Plant lovers, rejoice! There is a new way to channel your love of plants in the winter months. Our friend @christies has combined the joy of the holidays and the joy of little plants and crafted an absolute stunner for us in the form of a succulent Christmas tree. We don’t know about you, but we cannot get over how cute and creative this Christmas craft is!
Feel free to get creative with your succulent Christmas tree. Cactus flower ornaments? Go for it. Strands of moss wrapped around like garland? Would be beautiful! Although it’s not as on par with the natural theme, micro fairy lights could also make a great addition to this tree. And, if you don’t have the greenest of thumbs, it’s no problem. Christie has found a workaround for you: faux plants. It’s genius, really. Fake plants are less expensive, less fragile, and there’s no chance that they give out on you before next year’s holiday decorations go up. No matter how you DIY it, this succulent Christmas tree is sure to spruce up any mantel!
We would love to see your creations. Tag us on social media and be sure to join our Safe at Home Facebook Group, merry crafting.
Christie's Faux Succulent Christmas Tree
Supplies:
- Foam Floral Cone
- Straight pins
- Dried moss
- Faux succulents
- Needle nose pliers
Instructions:
- Use straight pins to pin the moss to the cone. Cover 2/3 of the cone. (Don’t use a hot glue gun, it will melt the foam!)
- Grab your faux succulents and push them into your cone. Try to push them in at an upward angle instead of straight in. Use your pliers to cut the stems shorter if needed.
- After your succulents are placed, go back and add small pieces of moss to places where foam is still visible.
- Show off your tree!
