The season of autumn comes with a lot of love. School starts back up, families and friends gather every Sunday to watch football, each drive you take becomes more colorful as the leaves change, and we all get to pull out our comfy sweaters that feel like a big hug.
As soon as we realize August is coming to a close, the fall decorating bug bites. Visions of pumpkin spice lattes, breaking out our favorite boots, and cozy nights by a fireplace creep into our (still 90 degree and sunny) days, and we’re helpless to their charms.
If you’re indulging in some autumnal decorating this year, we’re hoping this activity adds some inspiration to the mix. Far from your average mantelpiece décor or a faux-leaf wreath, these toilet paper pumpkins add some happy, child-safe pops of color to any part of your space!
Materials are simple, any craft store will help you find a square of fall-themed fabric (as early as July, they’re always ready!), and you’ll need just one roll of ribbon to make your leaves. Everything else should be easily found around the house. While it’s fun to use bright orange fabrics, you can also try out more neutral colors to fit in with your other décor.
We’d love to see how your toilet paper pumpkins come out, feel free to show off your final product in our Safe at Home Facebook Group!
